Rubber compound is an excellent material for rubber products, and its product quality has a decisive effect on its vulcanized rubber and the physical and mechanical properties of the product. Therefore, the inspection of the quality of rubber is an important link in the production, and what are the methods of inspection?
First, quick inspection of rubber material
The traditional quick inspection items to check the quality of the compound are plasticity, density, hardness, and must be checked by each batch.
1, plasticity measurement
The three samples were measured to check whether the plasticity of the compound meets the requirements of the index and whether it is uniform. Mooney viscosity can also be measured. If the plasticity of the compound is too small or the Mooney viscosity is too large, the processing performance of the compound is poor. On the contrary, if the plasticity is too large or the Mooney viscosity value is too small, the rubber material will be refined, which will damage the physical and mechanical properties of the vulcanized rubber. The plasticiability or Mooney viscosity of the compound is not uniform, indicating that the quality of the compound is not uniform.
2. Density measurement
The density of the three samples was determined in turn. The density measurement is mainly to test whether the rubber is mixed evenly, and whether the raw materials such as raw rubber and reinforcing filler are wrongly added or missed.
3. Hardness
The three samples were quickly vulcanized into test pieces at the specified temperature and time, and then the hardness value was measured by Shore A hardness tester. Hardness determination is mainly to test the dispersion of the reinforcing filler, the uniformity of vulcanization, and the misaddition or omission of raw materials (such as vulcanizing agent, accelerator and raw rubber, reinforcing filler, softener).
Second, physical and mechanical properties measurement
Comprehensive inspection of the quality of the compound must also spot check or periodically determine the physical and mechanical properties of vulcanized rubber. Conventional physical and mechanical properties testing items: tensile strength, elongation and hardness, etc., can be used to determine whether the rubber meets the quality requirements.
Third, vulcanization characteristics of rubber inspection
In order to quickly identify the quality of the compound, the vulcanization instrument is also widely used to determine the vulcanization curve of the compound to judge the quality of the compound. The vulcanization curve is very sensitive to the change of the compound. It can not only detect the fluctuation of the quality of the compound caused by the mismixing, but also detect the influence of the change of the mixing process conditions on the compound. As long as the vulcanization curve of the measured rubber is compared with the standard vulcanization curve, the existing problems and causes of the quality of the mixed rubber can be found, and the requirements of rapid inspection of the modern production of the mixed rubber can be fully met.
4. Check the dispersity of the compound
The dispersion of the compound in the compound is an important parameter to characterize the degree of mixing uniformity and the most important factor to determine the quality of the compound. For carbon black compound, measuring the dispersion state of carbon black in the compound is an important content to evaluate the quality of carbon black compound. The stability of the mixing process can be monitored and improved by testing the dispersion grade of carbon black in the mixing rubber, so as to ensure the quality of the semi-finished product of the mixing rubber and ensure the processing stability of the post-process.
The quality of rubber compound we produce is a more important link in the production, the quality of rubber compound is also the first concern of customers, so the quality requirements are still very high, rubber compound in the factory before the inspection method as above we combine these for you, hope to help you!
